Bring Remembrance to life through creativity, language, poetry and performance with this flexible, ready-to-use poetry workshop.

Students explore the meaning of Remembrance through symbols, images, senses and emotions, building their own ideas and vocabulary before using them to create a Remembrance poem with a message that is meaningful to them. Along the way, they develop creative-writing skills, experiment with poetic language and discover how choices in both writing and performance can affect an audience.

Designed to be adaptable across different ages, abilities and levels of writing experience, the workshop gives teachers the freedom to shape the session around the pupils in front of them. Activities can be selected, adapted or omitted as needed, while pupils can write individually, collaboratively or as a whole class.
